Brow Envy, get behind me!

I've been walking around thinking people had these magical unicorn-esque eyebrows that I sadly could not attain. Brow envy at it's finest. ::weeps uncontrollably::

I never, for once, thought "Oh, they probably use a brow pencil" because honestly when I think "brow pencil" I think of tacky people (IMO) with a line for brows. You can understand why I'd want no parts of that can't you?

 ::cringes::

Anyway, I was cruising through my favorite blogs and Krystal of The Feisty House had just posted about her daily make-up essentials and routine. She mentioned using the Wet n Wild brow pencil. Krystal assured her readers that despite it's low price point, this pencil did the trick perfectly.

Welp... that was my take home point! I decided I would add it to my daily make-up routine also.
A quick trip to CVS and exquisite brows were born

::shrieks::

I felt so complete and finished. Like I had the magical qualities the other ladies I've envied admired possessed.

Here are all my daily make-up essentials plus my new bestie: the brow pencil!

Tweezers to perfect my brows, toothbrush to brush them, brow pencil to make them magical.
Ambi facial moisturizer with SPF 15 (only 5 BUCKS!)
Nars "Taj" Blush
Nars "Laguna" Illuminator
I heart Sonya Kashuk make-up brushes (available at Target)
Random RIMMEL mascara

I won't ever have an emergency again that drives me to purchase their mascara. I go back and forth between lux mascara and OTC mascara. My favorite lux mascara is MAC "Opulash" and when I'm doing OTC I usually go with Maybelline (which ever one interests me at the time).

Fun make-up fact about me:

If I was banished to a desolate island and could only take one beauty/make-up item I would take mascara. I do not leave the house without it. I used to be torn between mascara or lip balm but then I realized there are plenty of natural moisturizers so I'm totally packing my mascara!

What is your make-up routine? Do you have a "can't leave home without it" product?

  1. I am the same way about mascara Wren! Even on those fresh face days, I need my mascara! Another tip for eyebrows is to thread instead of wax, and also use an eyebrow compact kit. I find those to be more natural looking than some pencils. So picking up that Nars Illuminator!

    1. YES! NARS Illuminator is life! :/ I tweeze only because waxing and threading irritate my skin. I have to work on getting them more symmetrical, though. I will look out for a eyebrow compact kit, I had one and it was too heavy for me at the time. Thanks for reading and sharing! <3

  2. I saw a commercial for a new Maybelline mascara that has two brushes, one for the top lashes and a smaller one for the bottom lashes. I want to try that out because I just got into putting mascara on the bottom lashes, but I always end up smudging and it looks extra black. Hated it! But yes, mascara and eyeliner are staples! I don't usually carry anything other than lipstick/lip gloss with me, but perhaps I'll start carrying around my mascara for those "just in case" days.

    1. ah! That is clutch the smaller bottom lash brush! I don't carry my mascara with me unless I am rushing and I put it on when I get to my destination. I meant I don't leave the house without it on my face under about 99% of all circumstances.

  3. I can not live without blush. Something about those rosy pink cheeks that just brightens up the rest of my face.

    I love mascara but sometimes will end up with residue under my eyes...I think it has something to do with the concealer i use to cover up the dark circles under my eyes. How can I combat that?

    1. good question! no clue... is the mascara waterproof? are you putting it on too heavy on the bottom lash?

      Yaaa bronzer/blush would be my next must-have make-up product! A little glow goes a long way! <3
